I'm Xingjia. I build these calculators because I needed them myself.

I grew up in Yinchuan, in north-west China, and spent years as a product manager at Tencent in Shenzhen. Then I moved to Hong Kong with my family. I'm a father of three. Like most people here, I invest through an ordinary brokerage account, and I had to work out US estate tax and dividend withholding for myself.

The answers I found were scattered across forum threads, often outdated, and a few online calculators had the rules wrong. One claimed non-residents pay US estate tax on their worldwide assets. They don't. So I read the IRS publications and treaty texts myself and turned them into tools that show their sources.

I also write about cross-border personal finance for more than 9,000 Chinese-speaking readers on X.
